Culture, Heritage, Sport, Tourism & Economic Development Committee
Agenda Item 30 (b)
Date of meeting: 25 March 2024
The question will be answered without discussion. The person who asked the question may ask one relevant supplementary question, which shall be put and answered without discussion. The person to whom a question, or supplementary question, has been put may decline to answer it.
The following written questions have been received from Members of this Committee:
(1) Councillor Pickett – Night Time Safety Charter
The manifesto on which this administration was elected last May stated: “We will look to introduce a Night Time Safety Charter and work with late-night venues to improve safety and help shift workers get home, as well as encouraging better policing, a clampdown on drug and alcohol misuse, tighter licensing and improved lighting.” - has any progress been made on this so far?
(2) Councillor Goldsmith – PSPOs
Brighton & Hove Labour’s May 2023 manifesto made a commitment to looking into protecting LGBTQ+ businesses in the city. Can we have an update on what progress has been made on this?
Under the administration’s proposed Cabinet system, will PSPOs still be discussed and approved at a public meeting, and will the impact on those experiencing homelessness still be included in the Equalities Impact Assessment, as discussed at the last committee?
